1970 Xplorer Camper Van

(Based on a Ford E300 1 ton van)

-All vital components either rebuilt or remanufactured.

-Remanufactured 302 CID engine with heavy duty oil pump, Teflon coated pistons, and a 351 Windsor cam. (firing order changed to accommodate)

-Bench serviced C4 automatic transmission by Ray’s Transmission, Neenah, WI.

-Rebuilt rear end.

-Recored radiator.

-Remanufactured 2 barrel carburetor

-Remanufactured distributor.

-Remanufactured alternator.

-Remanufactured water pump.

-Flex fan. (original fan included)

-Upgraded to front disc brakes. (original drums included)

-Shocks replaced.

-Upgraded to captain’s chair drivers seat. (original included but needs a spring repair)

-Upgraded to 16” wheels with 5 load range “E” BF Goodrich Commercial TA tires rotated yearly.

-Original factory undercoating. No evidence of winter salt corrosion. (I don’t think it was ever driven in the winter….I never did.)

-Second rear bunk bed was removed for visibility. (Included)

-Cabin water pump replaced.

-Recently sanitized fresh water tank. (August 2023) (I still wouldn’t drink from it…..After all, it’s 53 years old.)

-Recently flushed black water tank. (August 2023)

-Recent oil and filter change. (August 2023)

-Recent brake fluid flush, change and bleeding. (August 2023)

-3 year old engine battery.

-New cabin battery. (August 2023)

-Class 3 trailer hitch.

-A cracked windscreen was correctly replaced by a professional with new gasket. (It does not leak)

-Toilet, refrigerator, range, sinks all work properly.

$8K firm!

In the spirit of full transparency…..

-Roof AC unit was recharged once and it worked for awhile, but it leaked out after a short time. (All I succeeded in doing was destroy ozone) Unit fan does work.

-Hot water heater was rusted out and non functional when I bought it. I bypassed it.

-Shower water is plumbed through the toilet flush water supply area and it leaked. I bypassed it as I always had shower access at the campsite and the water heater didn’t work anyway.

-Door seals leak. (The one thing that sucks.) I attempted to fix the drivers door and failed. I couldn’t get the new seal to lay properly. I’m convinced that it’s a “black art” and best done by a professional.

-Cabin privacy curtains are included but are tattered and should be replaced.

-Propane cabin heater stopped working several years ago. I was always connected to shore power so I used an electric space heater to warm the cabin.

-There was an old school, non functioning air conditioner mounted in the dash hole where glove box originally went. I removed it, but never covered the opening.
