1996 Coachmen 19’ RB Class B Camper Van.
Live the van life. I bought this last summer in Seattle and have been coast to coast with zero issues. It has just over 100,000 miles and runs at 78 mph all day long. It still has the Onan generator with a new carb and pump (over 3k to replace) and everything works. I just replaced the dump valves (1k)
It has cruise control, power windows and locks (one not working). It sleeps 4 with 5 seatbelts. There is an overhead bed that pulls to a queen and the sofa lies flat to sleep two more. 3 way fridge can run on battery, propane or shore power. Shower in the rear. (Coachmen 19RB. 19’ long Rear Bath). It has a giant fresh water tank and separate black and grey water tanks. There is a sink, propane stove and microwave (I’ve never used it). It also has a cable outlet (but I think it is sacrilege to watch TV while camping.) It has unlimited book outlets:)
This thing screams vintage. The plan was to rip everything out and start fresh but honestly, it is just too nice to do that. It gets compliments at every gas stop. Which is often, because it sucks gas. Buy a Prius if this is a concern.
It lived its life in eastern Washington in the desert, and while it is 25 years old, it is remarkably well preserved. Zero body rust. There are a few blemishes in the paint, but from 10’ it looks great.
It is not cosmetology perfect but it is better than a lot that you will find. It is not cosmetically perfect either – but it’s really nice. It has a stack of records and receipts with it. Some of the wood is faded. There are some wonky door hinges. It’s like the tiny things in your house. You’ll notice them, but your neighbor won’t. When I bought it, one of the windows was cracked open and a little water got in. They all have some water damage. The windows leaked from the factory. You are being lied to if told otherwise. The advantage of this one is it lived its life in the desert.
The tires have a lot of tread but they are old. I’d probably replace the rears soon.
My advice is just to get in it and go see this amazing country and the little flaws will seem insignificant.
I’m selling because I bought an Airstream B190 that is in rough shape to tear apart and do a 4×4 conversion. It’s probably a mistake, because this van is awesome.
Title in hand.
Leave a number and I’ll call you back. Have permission and cash. I love to talk about the van but I don’t love talking your significant other into it. Have permission.
